Notification of a Covid Positive Situation – September 23, 2021. Two students have been tested and found to be positive for Covid-19. One is a part of the grade 6-8 class; the other is a part of the grade 4-5 class. They are quarantining at home under the direction of the Ingham County Health Department.
Notificiation of a Second Positive Situation – Saturday, Sept. 25. A staff member in our Emanuel Lutheran Childcare/Preschool notified us that she has tested positive for Covid-19. As a result of this information, it will be necessary to shut down the preschool class for four-year old students until Monday, October 4. Following procedure, we have contacted the Ingham County Health Department, and they will be investigating the matter and guiding us with the steps that will need to be followed. At this time, we don’t know of any other students or staff that has become positive for this virus.
The teachers at Emanuel have all received their elementary education degrees from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Martin Luther College is the ministry training college operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Years of teaching experience among our teachers ranges from college graduate to thirty years.
Our teachers are life-long learners who regularly attend conferences and workshops, and they participate in other continuing education activities. The teachers use computers and multi-media for instruction in their classrooms.
Academic instruction is excellent at Emanuel! However, our teachers all understand that their main goal each day is to help children grow in the “training and instruction of the Lord”.
